Accessibility
Our commitment
Robert's Westside is committed to making our website and our venue usable by as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability. We are working to increase the accessibility and usability of this site, and we treat that as ongoing work rather than a box to tick.
Measures we take
- We aim to conform to the most recent generally accepted Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- We test the site with a keyboard, and every page can be navigated without a mouse.
- We provide text alternatives for images that carry meaning.
- We check colour contrast against the site's own rendered pages when we change the design.
- We review accessibility whenever we make significant changes to the site.
Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content on this site may not yet be fully accessible. Parts of the site rely on third-party content we do not control — our ticketing checkout, our mailing-list signup, an embedded map and an embedded music player — and their accessibility is determined by those providers.
We deliberately do not claim a specific conformance level. If you find something on this site you cannot use, we want to hear about it and we will fix it.
Visiting the venue
The statements below come from our own FAQ. If you need something that is not covered here, please contact us before your visit and we will do our best to help.
- Robert's Westside is an ADA compliant bar and music venue with accessible seating and restrooms.
- The bar and venue have a variety of seating. Some events are standing room only, but we are happy to make accommodations for guests with limited mobility or other impairments. Reserved seating is only available where it is offered as a specific ticket type.
- We are at 7321 Madison Street in Forest Park, on the corner of Madison Street and Circle Avenue, about a five minute walk from the CTA Blue or Green Line.
- We do not have dedicated parking on site, but there is ample street parking on Madison Street and in the surrounding area. Please be aware of parking signage and permitted areas.
Requesting an accommodation
If you need an accommodation for an event, or you have had trouble using this site, email us at donnie@robertswestside.com. Please tell us the page or the event you are asking about and how best to reach you, and contact us as far in advance of the event as you can so we have time to arrange things properly.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Robert's Westside. If you come across a barrier, please let us know at donnie@robertswestside.com.
